SHEAFFER SENTINEL DELUXE TM TRIUMPH PEN IN BLACK, STEEL CAP/GFT/TD FILLER, c1950

Description

This is a 5-1/4" SHEAFFER WHITE DOT SENTINEL DELUXE TM TRIUMPH pen in black with lined steel cap and gold filled trim. It was introduced in 1950 and probably is from about that time frame. It is a sleek looking pen with a couple of minor faults. The cap is free of dents and scratches with the exception of the ubiquitous cap end dent. This one looks like it took a dead-on hit to the tip of the cap doubtless from being dropped. The plastic is also nice but for a very minor necking of the barrel diameter at the filler opening. It is not enough to make movement of the filler difficult, but it is just visible and mentioned for accuracy. The filler will still need a new sac and seals before it will take up ink.  Gold filled trim is free of brassing..
The nib is a two tone SHEAFFER 14K TRIUMPH.  It appears to be a extra fine with nail-like stiffness. A very nice pen.
